The Internet and how we use it

Mostly we use the internet for the usual stuff - email and all the jokes that we collect and send on, keeping up with the weather at intellicast, and I have a subscription to a digital artist's site called Digital Blasphemy.  I stumbled on this guy's work 5 or 6 years ago and have been a huge fan ever since.

As a computer tech, I spend a lot of time downloading drivers for the hardware I'm installing and/or reinstalling in clients' computers.  I have accounts at driverguide and most tier-one manufacturers (Dell, Gateway, HP, etc).  I'm connected to the world with a cable modem and operate just fine with a 3 mb connection.

We have a rather high pc-to-people ratio in this house: >2:1 actually.  There is a fileserver which is nothing more than a file repository (all the drivers I've collected, all of our documents and other business data, pictures, and our music library), Vicki's workstation, my computer (actually a laptop), and another laptop we take back and forth to the lake.  There is also a 5th PC that I use to back up hard drives with but it's not always set up.  I have a place to work on a PC in my shop, and another monitor/keyboard/mouse that I can setup on my pool table to work on a 2nd PC if necessary.
