Hobbies, work, lifestyle, and travel

They say everyone needs a hobby, and we're no different.  Vicki likes to garden and make stained glass items.  I'm not quite as multi-talented, though. As for me,  I just play pool.  A lot.  I try to play a couple hours a day, and over the course of a week it probably averages out to that.  There's just something fascinating to me about controlling that little white ball and making it do what I want it to do.

I play on two pool teams in league play (kind of like a bowling league).  Both teams are BCA-based, although I did play APA for several years.  I just got tired of all the nights I *had* to lose to maintain my handicap.  BCA is much better - I'm there to play pool and have a good time, not manage my handicap and learn how to lose.  I'm also a recognized BCA instructor and teach the set-pause-finish methodology of cueing arts.  My training was all accomplished at Cue-Tech in Dallas TX, under Randy Goettlicher and Carl Oswald, and completed the Master class under Jerry Powers

My current cue is a Jackson model 0-5 for shooting and a Player's jump/break cue with a phenolic tip.  I also have a Palmer that I truly like, and have had several Pechauer cues that play very well.  I have a Valley Cougar 7 foot bar table in my living room covered with Simonis 860 and there is a set of Aramith standard balls in the rack.
